We promote and maintain standards of professional conduct in occupational therapy practice.


Serving the Public Interest

NBCOT defines and clarifies professional responsibilities to protect present and future certified OTR® and COTA®s

  • Certified OTRs, COTAs, and exam candidates must abide by the Practice Standards and Code of Conduct

  • Certified OTRs and COTAs must disclose any criminal, legal, or other disciplinary matters within 60 days

  • Those who violate the Code of Conduct are subject to the Procedures of Enforcement

  • When certified OTRs and COTAs renew, they must agree to abide by the NBCOT certificant attestation
