NBCOT is pleased to provide a forum for sharing and interacting with others about Occupational Therapy certification and related topics. The viewpoints, opinions and actions expressed in comments are those of the individuals themselves, and may not reflect NBCOT's policies or positions.

NBCOT Online Community Guidelines

Be Respectful. It’s okay to disagree with others but cutting down or insulting individuals will not be tolerated. Comments will be removed that use obscenities, personal insults, ethnic slurs or other disparaging language.

Keep Your Comments on Topic. NBCOT’s focus for this site is about Occupational Therapy certification and related topics. We welcome discussion about certification, continuing competency, and certification renewal. NBCOT reserves the right to edit or remove inappropriate or off-topic comments at any time.

Protect Your Privacy.  Protect your privacy and don’t give out personal information. Doing so may make you susceptible to spam and unauthorized communication. NBCOT will not verify personal information posted by others.

Intellectual Property of Others.  Apart from the study questions posted weekly by NBCOT, the discussion boards should not be used by candidates or certificants to post NBCOT examination questions and/or questions copied from other sources to avoid copyright infringement and violating our Code of Conduct. Specific exam questions that are posted will be removed.

The NBCOT certification exams and the items contained therein are protected by federal copyright law. No part of an exam may be copied, reproduced, or shared in any manner, in part or whole, by any means whatsoever, including memorization, verbal, written, and/or electronic transmission, which includes, but is not limited to Facebook, Twitter, cell phone, blogs, and discussion forums. Posting exam or study tool questions to social media or other networking sites constitutes a test security and copyright violation as noted in Principle 1 of the NBCOT Candidate/Certificant Code of Conduct. Infringements of the NBCOT Code of Conduct are investigated to determine appropriate disciplinary action.

Posting on our Wall.  Listed are the types of questions that are typically posted on the wall:

  • Regarding certification policy and procedures for NBCOT's response to:
    • Eligibility requirements
    • Application processes
    • Examination administration
    • Testing accommodations
  • Seeking information from other candidates about preparing to take the test;
  • Seeking information on examination preparation resources;
  • Collaborating on organizing study groups.
